this is my attempt at summarizing the dreamie situation. this is not a typical post for this community, but i do deem it appropriate here. i'm going to try and make this as short and sweet as a i can but in frankness there was so much More to the situation than i was even aware of when i set out to write this

this is not for the sake of the drama and keeping it going, or a personal vendetta where i'm just trying to shit on someone. this isn't intended to be a typical "callout post" sort of deal either, but i guess that vibe just comes with the territory. this is to inform people of what happened, have an easy-access reference without poring over an lolcow thread and several tumblr blogs, and hopefully help folks recognize if this toxic user returns so that it can be ignored. (not harassed, not chased off, just flat out ignored. don't link the new site, don't engage.) i also hope this can help folks recognize certain toxic behaviors and subtler red flags in general, even if not presented by the same being

i also don't intend to name any names aside from dreamie's, so while i think some details such as what dreamie did to people is important, i don't think it's fair to people dreamie smeared to say who they were

also, a note on pronouns: i don't use "it" to be dehumanizing. "it" was the first on it's pronoun list, depicted with a heart symbol, ie that's it's preference. it dislikes they/them pronouns and being referred to as a person and human because that stuff would give it dysphoria. while the other information it provided about itself can be called into question given the context, I'm not here to shit on pronouns or dysphoria, so I'm doing my best to be respectful about it

update: apparently dreamie uses rot pronouns as of like a day ago. i already had most of this typed up with it pronouns. there's various evidence that points to it having the tendency to change pronouns frequently to switch goal posts and deflect criticism of it by accusing others of transphobia, so... i don't have the patience or spoons to go through and change every use of it to rot

for the sake of transparency, i myself am white and cis, and apologize in advance if i have any incorrect info regarding culture/gender that is not my own. let me know and i'll fix inaccuracies and insensitivites

a lot of this is from what i personally witnessed having (unknowingly) followed all of dreamie's sites on neocities, but a lot of it is based on other folks' experience and evidence they've posted as well, including content from lolcow

finally, tw for like. everything. seriously. i'll also be marking general red flag behavior with... well, red flags :,) 🚩

who?

tl;dr a racefaker who sows drama wherever it goes and frankly made nc toxic for a while

aliases: dreamie (aka dollie, corpse, bitty and chii)
urls: tumor, strawbabie, lullabye, starbit, angelcakes (neocities), gyarutrait, corpsetrait, doeeyed (tumblr), + a ton more

what did it do?

a better question may be what didn't it do at this point

on all platforms it:

• pretended to be poc when it wasn't (native american cherokee specifically)


• also claimed to be two-spirit, when it couldn't be bc it's not native american (two-spirit is a specific gender only applicable to native american folks, so it not only lied about it's race but appropriated native american culture)


• it also appropriated native american trauma by claiming it's had family members murdered on a reservation


• likely pretended to be romani and jewish, two other heavily oppressed ethnic groups


• it would actively use these lies as a gotcha in every discussion it got in 🚩


• spoke over actual people from these groups by default


• denied being white and white-passing on several occasions


• would constantly make posts to bait discourse about these topics 🚩 when it had no business discussing them, no less flat out acting like an authority on them


• dehumanized these groups, along with mi/nd groups 🚩


• would encourage others to harm themselves and use violent and aggressive language in general 🚩


• ex. "go find a glock and deepthroat that," "inject bleach into your veins," saying another user deserves to drink poison


• would constantly vague about other users, then denied doing it 🚩 (i know it would vaguepost bc i was someone it vagueposted about. i'm tempted to go so far as to say trying to blatantly deny it did this is a form of gaslighting tbh)


• would engage with minors, dragged the minors into drama 🚩 as it's knights, then accuse the other party of being groomers 🚩


• always portrayed itself as a victim and never took responsibility for being a perpetrator 🚩


• trivialized the term "pedophilia" by randomly accusing others of engaging in and supporting it 🚩

on neocities it:

• had at least FIVE sites, each iteration lasting roughly a month 🚩 (it had a supporter account and therefore access to make various sites, but the frequency of the switching is concerning)


• abused the timeline feature and set a precedent for it's misuse by other users


• ex. constantly using it as a microblog, spamming it with random nonsense, posting aforementioned discourse baiting


• started bad faith drama with several other users, resulting in them going on hiatus or leaving nc entirely 🚩


• ex. calling other users pedophiles over fictional shipping, accusing other users of wanting it dead for posting articles it clearly didn't bother to read (i read the articles and can verify this was in incredibly bad faith), accusing other users of being terfs because - and i quote - "trust me"


• used a weird repurposed slur? "cissie," based on "sissy." i'm not saying calling someone cis is a slur, but that using a term that SOUNDS like an already existing slur against a vulnerable group to to use against the oppressor group sure is a choice it made. because it wasn't referring to itself i'm not going to accept reclaimation as an explanation


• used ableist language 🚩


• "idiot," "did you get shot up with idiot serum"


• watermarked someone else's photo


• ran a webring, removed people from it for linking other users it didn't like, accusing them of vicariously engaging with lolcows. when users opted to leave due to dreamie's behavior, it told them to "have fun supporting pedophiles"

on tumblr it:

• manipulated mi/nd ppl via suicidebaiting 🚩


• arranged for harassment campaigns 🚩 then played the victim


• changed pronouns to shift the goalpost


• alienated several black users and spoke over them


• told a user that them just sharing it's username with another user made them personally accountable for it's suicide attempt 🚩


• literally said "i can't wait to post this [private dm] conversation publicly [to attempt to cancel the other user]" as an intimidation tactic when the other user refused to give in to it


• lied about having no money or access to medical help to further it's victim narrative after it was told to "seek help," then accused the user who told it to seek help of being classist and ableist

on everskies it:

• was banned at least four times 🚩


• gatekept discussions and insisted other users had to out themselves to engage

on discord servers it:

• was complained about for being argumentative in yesterweb 🚩


• was banned from yesterweb for dismissing their concerns about the complaints 🚩


• was also banned from at least two private servers 🚩


• lied about not being able to go to homeless shelters due to it's racial/ethnic traits


• accused another system of telling it to commit suicide when no such thing happened

and all of that is merely what has been discovered thus far

how the white came to light

this series of events is a doozy lol

• someone found an old tumblr blog of dreamie's, which lead to it's deviantart account. in the deviantart account, several stamps were favorited. at least three of the favorited stamps were used as graphics on corpsetrait


• a toyhouse using the same username as the deviantart was found, and included info on an oc named seth. this character's name, design, and aesthetic was also featured on corpsetrait


• a tumblr (delilah-dangerous) made a post with several shop.io aesthetics. one of the aesthetics was a blue number using the toyhouse oc's name seth, and all the aesthetics led to the shop.io user trans-gyaru


• trans-gyaru says it's white


• but remember, the aesthetics were posted on delilah-dangerous... meaning delilah-dangerous = trans-gyaru


• delilah-dangerous indicated several separate times that it's white, and posted the selfie featured above

other evidence

• based on it's photo, even "white passing" doesn't cover how it has 0 features of a cherokee roma jew. but in case there was no doubt, on one of it's old tumblr blogs it plainly says it's white


• it's to my understanding that roma and jewish folks genetically are likely to have certain physical traits, and these traits have been historically used to oppress them; dreamie exhibits none of these traits, and especially not enough of them to be banned from a homeless shelter of it


• it's hebrew was incorrect when it was posting it, then on discord it claimed the person who said it was wrong was incorrect bc they were using translate... but it didn't realize the caps of google translate proved that it had used google translate. it used the singular form of goyim, and a gendered term that was a default of google translate's over


• it kept avoiding discussing which roma family it was from. when it finally did say, it said "sintesa," and said, quote, "my family does consider ourselves roma, despite what wikipedia will mistakenly tell you." sinti is specifically a family that does not use "roma," but "romani"


• said it lives in a seven room apartment on neocities


• as of sept 7 on starbit and aug 31 on lullabye, there was no indication of roma/jew ethnicity. then suddenly, as of sept 6 on strawbabie those ethnicities were included it's about. then as of october 15 on corpsetrait, it made no mention of being romani/jewish


• it just couldn't help itself, and used a lot of the same mannerism and interests. the obsession with gyaru, use of term "proshitter," use of specific phrased like "sappichillean..."

be wary

dreamie is not the first being to be... this way in online communities. it has already shown it will remake and start over at the drop of a hat, and use alts to avoid bans, change names, change urls, and change pronouns. i would not be shocked if it returned to any of the communities it was on under a new alias, or even under a previous one while pretending to "own" it

neocities doesn't offer too much in way of boundaries, and frankly that's how it was on the old web. but if you encounter a user who behaves similarly to dreamie, it would probably do you well to avoid them and block them

but it's not just dreamie that has behaved this way. part of the way dreamie was caught to begin with was a lot of it's behavior was textbook sus. to folks who've never witnessed this kind of internet drama, and especially to younger people: don't always take everything an internet rando says at face value. if you encounter a being that's somehow always involved in drama and always the victim of it, or is constantly jumping around from site to site, there might be Something Behind That

update as of 10-18-23

did some thread spelunking, and it looks like dreamie made one new blog and a new site, and both are miraculously still up a year later, although they don't appear to be active. it's probably best to block these accounts just in case tho. if anybody ever gets further updates drop me a line, i am keen to know what new ridiculous shit dreamie gets up to 👀

oh lord.... i missed that part and how despicable to try and bully kids to out themselves to strangers. and yet dreamie claimed on neocities that it was up to it to "protect kids" 😒
